Cette m\u00e9thode a permis de produire <a href=\"https:\/\/design.cnil.fr\/etudes-de-cas\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">trois \u00e9tudes de cas<\/a> d&#8217;interfaces adapt\u00e9es aux jeunes.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Once the <a href=\"https:\/\/design.cnil.fr\/resources\/coconception-mineurs-recruter-participants\/\">participants have been recruited<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/design.cnil.fr\/resources\/coconception-mineurs-recherches-preliminaires\/\">preliminary research<\/a> has been completed, the co-creation workshops can be prepared and conducted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"preparation-supports\"><strong>Prepare materials<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Based on the analysis of the information collected during the research phase, you can develop the tools needed to facilitate the co-creation workshops. These tools include personas, mission cards, and interaction and discussion cards to facilitate exchanges between participants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"personas\">Create personas<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Analysing the information collected during the research phase will help you identify major trends in the digital practices of the minors you are working with, as well as weak signals \u2014 that is, less common behaviours or practices that nevertheless have strong links to privacy and personal data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The personas you create should be based on these findings, allowing you to create credible characters with whom minors can identify. They focus on one or more of the three pillars of data protection: <a href=\"https:\/\/design.cnil.fr\/concepts\/information\/\">information<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/design.cnil.fr\/concepts\/consentement\/\">consent<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/design.cnil.fr\/concepts\/exercice-des-droits\/\">exercise of rights<\/a>. These cards should be based primarily on your context, the challenges you have identified and the information collected during the preliminary research phase. The mission cards presented here include the following information:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u25ba <strong>Context:<\/strong> a short description of the situation participants will be working on;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u25ba <strong>Mission:<\/strong> the problem participants will have to solve in relation to the situation described in the context;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u25ba <strong>Data protection focus<\/strong>: the data protection aspect(s) on which participants should focus. To find out more, you can consult <a href=\"https:\/\/design.cnil.fr\/concepts\/\">the key GDPR concepts<\/a>. You can also use <a href=\"https:\/\/design.cnil.fr\/resources\/kit-atelier-penser-le-rgpd-dans-le-parcours-utilisateur\/#telechargement\">the GDPR cards<\/a> to support participants;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u25ba <strong>Useful information:<\/strong> additional information that sheds light on certain elements or explains specific terms. It is best to check the possible combinations beforehand to make sure that they all work. Some combinations may not be coherent and should therefore be discarded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are several ways to create these combinations:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u25ba <strong>Work on one mission card through the lens of several personas<\/strong>. This approach makes it possible to develop several solutions to the same problem, with each solution providing a response specific to each persona profile;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u25ba <strong>Work on several mission cards through the lens of one persona.<\/strong> This approach makes it possible to explore several problematic situations through a single perspective and develop responses based on a single type of usage and experience;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u25ba <strong>Propose several combinations of one mission card and one persona card.<\/strong> This approach makes it possible to explore and resolve problematic situations through multiple user experiences;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u25ba <strong>Draw combinations at random during the workshop.<\/strong> This approach requires less preparation beforehand and is possible if all combinations are coherent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the workshop, groups can work on the same combinations or on different combinations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"cartes-interactions\">Interaction formats<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>To facilitate the workshop and encourage participants to express themselves, you can provide materials that help structure interactions and make discussions more fluid and engaging. For example, you can provide participants with cards that allow them to indicate, while listening to someone else, that they agree with what is being said, have a question or have an idea. These cards allow participants to signal that they would like to speak without interrupting the person who is currently speaking. Through the proposals they develop as a group, minors express solutions that respond to their expectations and are adapted to their practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Workshop structure<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Every workshop is different, and the information below is provided for guidance only, particularly regarding the time allocated to each activity. The pace of the workshop will depend primarily on the number and age of the participants. They were structured as follows:<\/br><\/br>\n\u25ba Welcome and introduction (10 min)<\/br>\n\u25ba Icebreaker activity (5\u201310 min)<\/br>\n\u25ba Storytelling activity (20 min)<\/br>\n\u25ba Break (10 min)<\/br>\n\u25ba User journey and interface design (50\u201360 min)<\/br>\n\u25ba Discussion (40 min)<\/br>\n\u25ba Closing remarks (5 min)<\/br>\n<\/br>\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Welcome and introduction<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\" style=\"color:#0013E4\">\n<h3>PRACTICAL INFORMATION<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Time<\/span>: 10 min<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Materials<\/span>: presentation slides<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Objectives<\/span>: remind participants of the workshop context and objectives, and introduce them to one another for the rest of the workshop.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>When welcoming participants, both minors and legal representatives, it is recommended that they go directly to their group table. This allows them to get to know one another and meet the facilitator who will accompany them throughout the workshop. Groups should consist of 4 to 5 people, with a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 6. If legal representatives are present, they do not have to be in the same group as the minor they are accompanying.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This first part of the workshop is used to present the session&#8217;s structure and describe the workshop&#8217;s context and objectives. It also provides an opportunity to review several concepts that will be useful during the rest of the workshop, particularly those relating to data protection. It is also an opportunity to create a dynamic, positive and trusting atmosphere in which minors feel comfortable expressing themselves. The facilitator can also answer participants&#8217; initial questions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Icebreaker activity<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\" style=\"color:#0013E4\">\n<h3>PRACTICAL INFORMATION<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Time<\/span>: 5\u201310 min<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Materials<\/span>: depending on the activity<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Objective<\/span>: create a group dynamic.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>This activity should last no more than 10 minutes and allows participants to get to know one another through a simple and fun activity. Many techniques are available and can easily be found online, so you can choose the one that best suits your needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns has-2-columns block-ex-1col is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column has-2-columns block-ex-1col is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The D&amp;D experience<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"padding: 0 24px 6px 24px ;\">The icebreaker used during our workshops was an exquisite corpse exercise based on the prompt:\n\u201cFor me, privacy is&#8230;\u201d. Participants took turns writing their answers, hiding what they had written by folding the sheet of paper, and passing it to the person next to them. Once each participant had written their sentence, the last participant unfolded the sheet. Each person then read their sentence aloud, giving everyone an opportunity to react.<\/br>\n<\/br>\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Storytelling activity<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\" style=\"color:#0013E4\">\n<h3>PRACTICAL INFORMATION<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Time<\/span>: 20 min<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Materials<\/span>: A3 sheets, pencils, felt-tip pens, tape or Patafix<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Objective<\/span>: create a group dynamic.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>The storytelling activity introduces issues relating to personal data and their use by drawing an analogy with contexts that are familiar to minors. This helps connect sometimes abstract concepts with concrete situations, which is particularly important for younger children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns has-2-columns block-ex-1col is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column has-2-columns block-ex-1col is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The D&amp;D experience<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"padding: 0 24px 6px 24px ;\">During this activity, participants were transported to an amusement park divided into four different worlds. When they enter the park, a computer analyses them, identifies their tastes and habits, and decides which part of the park to send them to. Participants are then unable to change worlds. Faced with this situation, which illustrates online profiling practices and associated recommendations, participants are invited to express their views: What do they think of this situation? Does it pose a problem for them? Would they like to visit the other worlds? What are they missing out on by being unable to go there?<\/br>\n<\/br>\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">User journey and interface design<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\" style=\"color:#0013E4\">\n<h3>PRACTICAL INFORMATION<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Time<\/span>: 50\u201360 min<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Materials<\/span>: Post-it notes, paper, pencils, <a href=\"#personas\">personas<\/a>, <a href=\"#mission-cards\">mission cards<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/design.cnil.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/2023-02-28-Kit-UI-Compressed.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">UI kit<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Deliverables<\/span>: a user journey or interface addressing the challenge presented in the mission cards.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Objective<\/span>: ensure that the challenges presented in the mission cards are addressed by minors in line with their expectations and needs.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>To begin this design activity, the facilitator ensures that all participants understand the different materials. They take the time to answer any questions the minors may have and ensure that all the elements are properly understood, for example by explaining any specific terms used.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once this has been done, the facilitator guides participants in creating a user journey and interfaces that respond to the mission card based on the selected persona. The facilitator can help minors draw or express their ideas by asking questions or rephrasing their suggestions, while taking care not to introduce their own ideas or biases. To represent the interfaces, participants can use the user interface elements provided in the <a href=\"https:\/\/design.cnil.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/2023-02-28-Kit-UI-Compressed.pdf\">UI kit<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An iterative approach is recommended during this design phase, starting by generating a wide range of ideas and gradually refining them. Depending on the group dynamics, it may be useful to begin with individual reflection, followed by a group discussion to share ideas and select those preferred by the group as a whole. The facilitator should ensure that every participant has an opportunity to express themselves and is involved in the interface design process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Discussion<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\" style=\"color:#0013E4\">\n<h3>PRACTICAL INFORMATION<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Time<\/span>: depending on the number of groups, allow 10 to 15 min per group;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Materials<\/span>: Post-it notes, pencils, <a href=\"#interaction-cards-\">reaction cards<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Deliverables<\/span>: commented and revised user journeys or interfaces<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Objective<\/span>: review and improve the interfaces co-designed during the previous activity.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>After developing their solutions, each group presents the different ideas they came up with during the design phase, followed by the approach they developed. It is preferable for the minors to lead the presentation, with the facilitator stepping in to clarify or explain certain points if necessary. The other participants are encouraged to share their opinions using the interaction cards. The facilitators take note of these comments and add them to the existing interface. If you use Post-it notes, you can assign a colour to each type of suggestion or reaction.
